Sound Healing & Sound Baths
Sound Healing
Sound can be a gentle doorway back to yourself. I offer private, 1:1 Sound Healing & Couples Sound Healing (partners, spouses, mother & daughter, etc) spaces from my narrowboat in Knowle, Solihull, as well as in homes across the West Midlands and Worcestershire. These sessions provide a calm, intimate space where you can deeply rest, release tension, and support nervous system regulation.
Using a wide range of instruments — including gongs, crystal bowls, drums, and percussion — I create immersive sound journeys tailored to your needs. Each session draws on my year-long intensive training as a Sound Healing Practitioner, accredited by the International School of Holistic Medicine, allowing me to guide you safely and compassionately through a deeply restorative experience.
Benefits of 1:1 sound healing include:
Nervous system regulation and stress reduction
Deep physical and mental relaxation
Emotional release and clarity
Enhanced sense of grounding and inner spaciousness
All work is offered through a trauma-informed, compassionate approach, supporting you to move at your own pace and feel fully safe in the process.
What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is a gentle, immersive practice that uses vibration, tone, and rhythm to invite deep relaxation, balance, and a sense of inner calm. Rooted in ancient traditions and supported by modern insights, sound healing offers a soothing bridge between time-honored wisdom and today’s need for rest, connection, and wellbeing.
A Brief History
For thousands of years, cultures across the world have turned to sound as a source of healing and harmony. From chanting and drumming in Indigenous traditions to bells and singing bowls in Eastern practices, sound has long been used in ceremony, meditation, and restoration. In ancient Greece, music was even prescribed to support sleep and ease emotional distress — an early recognition of sound’s powerful effect on the human experience.
These traditions live on today through spaces such as sound baths, toning, and the use of instruments like gongs, tuning forks, and singing bowls, creating spaces where people can slow down, soften, and reconnect.
The Science Behind Sound
From a modern perspective, sound healing works through the body’s natural response to vibration and auditory stimulation. Sound waves can help guide the nervous system out of “fight or flight” and into a more relaxed “rest and restore” state. Research in related fields like music therapy shows that certain sounds and rhythms may help reduce stress, calm the mind, lower heart rate, and support emotional wellbeing.
Low-frequency vibrations are often felt gently throughout the body, encouraging muscle relaxation and greater body awareness. While some aspects of sound healing come from holistic traditions rather than clinical science, many people describe the experience as deeply calming, grounding, and nourishing.
I look forward to welcoming you in. With Love, April x
Sound Baths
I also offer sound baths for groups, couples, and corporate teams, as well as monthly sessions at Wild Fox Yoga in Hockley Heath, Solihull. These sessions are designed to help participants unwind, reset, and connect — whether in a retreat setting, at a workplace, or in a local studio space.
Through immersive vibrations from gongs, crystal bowls, and drums, participants can experience the same nervous system benefits as 1:1 work, while sharing the energy and intention of a collective space.
Group sound baths are ideal for:
Local community gatherings and retreats
Couples seeking shared relaxation and reconnection
Corporate teams looking to reduce stress, increase focus, and enhance wellbeing
The science behind sound baths is clear: sound frequencies help shift brainwaves into slower, restorative states, supporting deep relaxation, better sleep, and nervous system balance. My approach is trauma-informed and compassionate, creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of experience.
Whether you join me at Wild Fox Yoga, in a workplace, or as part of a retreat, sound becomes a shared experience of rest — a way to pause, listen, and return home to yourself.
