Movement & Yoga
Movement & Yoga - My Approach
Movement is not just something we do — it’s something we are.
Life moves in spirals rather than straight lines, and our bodies are always vibrating, adapting, and responding. My work with movement is an invitation to slow down, listen, and allow the body’s innate intelligence to lead.
I work with movement as a living, evolving conversation between body, breath, sensation, emotion, and awareness. While yoga asana may be part of that conversation, my offerings extend far beyond postures alone. I draw on yoga, somatics, nervous system awareness, and embodied inquiry to support movement that feels responsive, intuitive, and deeply human.
My approach weaves together asana, somatic movement, pranayama, stillness, self-inquiry, and philosophy, always guided by what is present rather than a fixed shape or outcome. I’m deeply influenced by somatic lineages including Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Linda Hartley, and my training with Authentic Flow, all of which emphasise sensing, choice, and moving from within.
In our work together, movement may be slow and exploratory, subtle and internal, or expressive and flowing. Sessions can support regulation, release, strength, or rest — often all within the same space. Everything is offered through a trauma-informed, compassionate lens, honouring autonomy, agency, and nervous system safety.
Ways We Can Work Together
1:1 yoga & somatic movement sessions (fully personalised)
Couples movement sessions
Group classes and retreat spaces (up to 20 people)
Corporate movement & wellbeing packages, supporting teams with regulation, stress reduction, embodiment, and connection
I’m based in Knowle, Solihull, and work across the West Midlands and Worcestershire, as well as on retreats across the UK and abroad. Whether we’re moving together in a private session, a workplace setting, or a retreat container, my intention is to create spaces that feel safe, supportive, and deeply attuned to the people within them.
Movement doesn’t ask us to fix or force anything — it invites us to come back into relationship with ourselves, again and again.

Kind Words
““April always creates a welcoming, calm and inclusive space for any yoga practice with her warm and friendly nature, which naturally makes people feel at ease”
— Lisa Buckley“After my one on one I feel that my heart is now open again”
“I’ve been working 1:1 with April for some time now, and our weekly sessions blending yoga, movement, somatics, and sound healing have been truly transformative.
Since beginning this journey, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my sleep patterns, stress levels, anxiety, and overall wellbeing. The shift hasn’t just been physical, it’s been deeply emotional and mental as well.
April creates such a compassionate, non-judgmental space where I feel completely safe to be myself. There’s never any pressure, only gentle encouragement and genuine care. She intuitively tailors each session to meet me exactly where I am, adapting the movement to my level and what I need that day.
This work has been nothing short of life changing, and I’m so grateful our paths crossed”
